# Connection Issues

**“I can’t connect TrueNorth to my AI”**
Start by generating a fresh MCP link. Go to your TrueNorth dashboard, open Settings > MCP, and copy the link from there. Do not type or modify the link manually — paste it directly into the connector field of your AI client. Verify the link starts with https\:// and appears complete.

For Claude: Go to Connectors > TrueNorth > Configure and set “Always allow” to enable the tools. For ChatGPT: Open Settings > Apps & Connectors > Advanced Settings, turn on Developer Mode, then verify TrueNorth is selected in the dropdown.

If you’re still unable to connect after following the steps above, try disconnecting completely, restarting your AI client, and reconnecting from scratch.
**“Tools aren’t showing up after connection”**
For Claude, go to Connectors > TrueNorth > Configure and confirm “Always allow” is set. For ChatGPT, open the bottom-left dropdown of the chatbox and select TrueNorth MCP. In both cases, restart your AI client completely after making the change, then run a simple test: “What tools do you have from TrueNorth?” to confirm the connection is active.

If none of the above resolves your issue, reach out to the TrueNorth team on X (@get\_truenorth) with a description of the problem and which AI client you’re using.
